Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using PAPPR, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Definitions

"The App" refers to the PAPPR mobile application, including all features, content, and updates. "The Company" refers to The SLIM Prep, the owner and operator of PAPPR. "User" or "You" refers to any individual who downloads, installs, or uses the App. "Content" refers to any text, images, videos, audio, files, or other materials created, stored, or processed by you within the App.

The Company grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on devices you own or control, strictly in accordance with these Terms.

3. In-App Purchases

PAPPR offers a one-time purchase ("PAPPR Pro") that unlocks additional features. This purchase is processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and is subject to their respective terms and refund policies. The Company does not process payments directly and does not have access to your payment information.

A future subscription service ("PAPPR Sync") may be offered for cross-device synchronization. Terms, pricing, and cancellation policies will be disclosed before any subscription is offered.

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all Content you create within the App. The Company does not claim any ownership, license, or rights to your Content.

Because the App operates entirely on your device with no server component, the Company never has access to, possession of, or control over your Content. You are solely responsible for your Content and for maintaining backups.

5. Encryption and Security

The App provides encryption features designed to protect your Content on your device. While the Company has implemented strong encryption standards (AES-256-GCM, Argon2id), the Company does not warrant or guarantee that the encryption is impenetrable, that the App will prevent all unauthorized access, that the App will function without defects, or that the security features will satisfy any particular regulatory framework.

You acknowledge that no encryption system is absolutely secure. The Company is not liable for unauthorized access to your Content that results from vulnerabilities in the encryption implementation, your device's operating system, third-party software, physical access to your device, or any other cause.

You are solely responsible for: choosing a strong master passphrase, protecting your passphrase from disclosure, maintaining the physical security of your device, creating and securing backups of your Content, and understanding that the Duress PIN feature permanently and irreversibly destroys data.

The Company cannot recover your data under any circumstances. If you forget your passphrase, lose your device, or activate the Duress PIN, your Content is permanently lost. The Company does not have your encryption keys, your passphrase, or copies of your Content. This is by design.

6. AI Features

The App includes an on-device artificial intelligence feature that generates decoy note content. This feature operates entirely on your device, does not transmit your Content to any server, and generates content algorithmically that may be inaccurate, nonsensical, or contextually inappropriate. It is provided "as is" without warranty. You are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated decoy content before saving it.

7. App Disguise Feature

The App includes a feature that allows you to change the App's icon and name on your device's home screen for personal privacy purposes. The App remains identifiable as PAPPR in the App Store and device settings. The Company is not responsible for any consequences arising from your use of the disguise feature.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the App to store, organize, or facilitate any activity that violates applicable law, to infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party, or to attempt to circumvent any security features of the App for purposes of attacking or compromising the App itself.

For clarity: the Company does not monitor, review, or have access to your Content. This clause establishes the terms of the license, not surveillance obligations.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, logos, trademarks, and documentation, is the property of The SLIM Prep and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. "PAPPR" is a trademark of The SLIM Prep.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or security. The Company does not warrant that the App will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that the encryption will prevent all unauthorized access, that the AI features will produce accurate or appropriate output, or that any defects will be corrected.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall The SLIM Prep, its officers, directors, employees, agents, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, any loss of data, content, profits, revenue, business, or anticipated savings, any unauthorized access to or alteration of your Content, any failure of the encryption, security, or privacy features, any permanent loss of Content due to forgotten passphrases, device loss, Duress PIN activation, or any other cause.

The Company's total liability for all claims arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, the Company's liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The SLIM Prep and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any applicable law, your Content, or any claim by a third party related to your use of the App.

13. Termination

The Company may terminate your license to use the App at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. All Content on your device remains your property. The Company has no ability to remotely delete your Content.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Before initiating any legal action, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting The SLIM Prep at legal@pappr.app. If the dispute is not resolved within thirty (30) days, either party may proceed with formal legal action.

Class action waiver: To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy available at pappr.app/privacy, constitute the entire agreement between you and The SLIM Prep regarding the App.

17. Changes to These Terms

The Company reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted at pappr.app/terms. For material changes that reduce your rights, the Company will provide notice through the App at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect.
